Book Fair

Our previous Book Fairs were great success
es, resulting in new library books for our school and additions to teachers' in-class libraries!  With the generous purchases by our College View families and friends, and the selfless work of our volunteers, this year's Book Fair can once again become a great fundraiser for College View!!!

This is an example of what a recent book fair did for College View...
 - $2,800 in revenue allowed us to purchase new books for our school library!
 - $350 in additional revenue allowed our teachers to buy new books for their class room libraries!
 - $96 in additional revenue allowed us to give books as prizes to the top students in our reading contest!

College View truly appreciates your support.  These are great numbers which provided great support to making our Wildcats strong readers!
And now...
Soon it will be time for our Fall 2011 Book Fair!

College View's Fall Book Fair will be here from October 13th through October 21st.  The following are the important dates for our families to know:
  • Your student can purchase books, simply send them to school with money.  They can notify their teacher that they have money to make a purchase, and the teacher will provide a time during their day for them to go in and make that purchase.  Purchases will also be allowed during recess/lunchtime.  However, students are only allowed in if they have money in-hand.
  • October 20th - Last Chance Night - this is the night before the Book Fair closes.  Again, family members, friends and neighbors are welcome.  The time of the event is from 5:30 to 7:30.
  • October 21st - this is the last day for students to make any purchases they wanted to make.  The end of the Book Fair will be at 1pm.  At that time, we will begin clean-up.  Clean-up is a fairly quick and easy process.  Any volunteers are greatly appreciated!

Reading Contest:

Your student(s) were given a Reading Contest form in class.  The more pages they read, the more likely they will be chosen to be the top reader for their grade level.  If they are chosen, they will be invited to attend the Last Chance night on October 20th to participate in a contest to determine the final winner for their grade level.  The final winner will be given a gift certificate to purchase books that night at the fair.

The contest came home on TBD and must be turned in on Wednesday, TBD for your student(s) to be eligible.

Please find the Reading Contest Rules here.
